Foreign language instruction should begin in kindergarten. It is known that adults have more difficulties in learning a second language than children. Below I will give a list with some reasons.   1.       1. This happens because every kid is born with the ability to learn the sounds of any language. That is why children learn the mother tongue without any difficulties and become fluent speakers in it. So, if we want our kids to learn a second language, it is the best thing to introduce it in the first year of life.   2.        2. Children develop an “ear” for languages. So they will have better pronunciation and fluency later in life.   3.       3. Children who learn a second language early in life have a huge head start both cognitively and linguistically. This will give them the chance to become bilingual.   4.        4.  Learning a second language in kindergarten i...

Some books to better learn English vocabulary, grammar, idioms and phrasal verbs.   Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well J I know that the end of this semester has found us full of assignments and projects and that we are all stressed about our finals, but today I want to share with you some books that I have found useful (and the best) for your future students. The books that I will mention below have everything your students need to improve their English vocabulary and grammar. You can suggest them to work with them during the summer holidays, so they will not stop learning English for three months. The first books are “Grammar in Use” (There are three books elementary, intermediate and advance). You can give your students the one according to their English level. The second books are “English vocabulary in Use” (There are also three books according to the English level of your students.) The third one is “Idioms in Use” (I highly recommend this one fo...

Some problems to deal with during teaching Every teacher has to deal with different problems in the classroom. I would name these problems “Classroom challenges”. Every teacher should have the courage to overcome all these challenges in the best way. Below I will mention and explain some of these challenges faced by the teachers nowadays. 1.        Lack of time for planning Teachers nowadays have to handle multiple roles in the classroom. They have to update the subject to new demands, to correct materials, to manage fields trips as well as bringing in new create approaches to meet the present educational trends.   All these things mentioned above add a lot of pressure and the lack of time doubles it. 2.        Balancing diverse learning needs In every classroom the type of students will be different and they will have diverse learning needs. It is a serious challenge to satisfy all of them in the same ...

Hello everyone :)  I hope you are doing well. 😃😃 Today I want to share with you some very interesting and useful technology tools for teaching grammar.  Lately, I have been working on a project about teaching grammar and I have searched about some ways and tools that can help us to make our lessons more interesting and fun for our pupils or students. As we already know, teaching grammar isn't difficult bur for our students or pupils it is difficult and sometimes it gets boring when you use the same method every single time you have to explain a new grammar. That's why I decided to share and give you some technology tools to teach grammar ( but not only grammar, you can use them for other skills, too) better. 1) Grammar Mind Maps Grammar mind maps can make your grammar lessons more visual. The goal of grammar mind maps is to appeal to both the left and right sides of your brain and hopefully thus enable students to learn concepts more successfully. The website GrammarMindMap...

My reflections and feeling in relation to our project. Hello everyone J                 I hope you are doing well and I wish you a very productive week. The blog of this week will be about my feelings and reflections about a very interesting project that we have to do in ELT Technology Class. Firstly, I want to share something I have thought of when working with the project. It is a group project. We have to work in pairs and I am working for the project with a very best friend of mine. Personally I really love working with my friend because every time we work together we do great projects. Our classmates like them very much and so do our teachers. When I have projects to do with her I always think of the importance of having such people in your group work. I say that because we both love what we do and we really think hard about every detail. I mean… we take the project very seriously and we work hard to do our best. As I have...

Some ways to enhance lesson planning with technology Have you ever thought about people that have lived in the 70s? They have lived without computers and technology hasn’t been developed as it is now. Since that time, computer technology has expanded in leaps and bounds. So, let’s take a look at how you can make the most of technology in your classroom. Firstly, many schools now have a way for teachers to connect their computers to a projector. Some even have smart boards. Below I will give you some ways you can use this technology to enhance your lessons: Firstly, computers help you better organize and present your information. Typing up your notes in Microsoft Word or Google Docs, or creating a PowerPoint presentation, helps you focus less on how you’re going to teach and more on what you’re going to cover. During class, you can project those notes onto a big screen to give students an indication of where the lesson is going. If you do have a tendency to take rabbit trail...

What is the theory of multiple intelligence? What are its benefits? First, I would like to give a general idea of what MI is. The theory of multiple intelligences (MI) was first advanced by Dr. Howard Gardner. Challenging the traditional concept intelligence, the theory of multiple intelligences suggest that each individual has eight different types of intelligences. These intelligences combine to form any individual’s specific cognitive potential. 8 types of intelligences: 1.        1. Verbal-linguistic intelligence refers to an individual’s ability to analyze information and produce work that involves oral and written language. 2.        2.   Logical-mathematical intelligence describes the ability to detect patterns, reason deductively and think logically, make calculations, and solve abstract problems. 3.         3. Visual-spatial intelligence describes the ability manipulate and create m...
